Use a consistent workplace structure
Create a location for each workplace that needs its own attendance context. Choose names that staff recognise and check the marker and location rule.
Avoid creating several almost identical locations for the same place. When a workplace is no longer needed, retire it while retaining historical records.
Assign review responsibility
CrewLoca supports worker, manager, owner and payroll viewer roles, with location assignments and permissions. Managers should see and review the workplaces within their responsibility.
A payroll viewer is useful when someone needs approved hours but should not edit attendance. An owner can oversee the company without being required to clock in.
Review movement and company boundaries
When people move between workplaces, review gaps, overlaps and the selected location. Agree separately how travel or other unrecorded periods are treated.
Locations inside one company are different from separate company workspaces. Do not assume that adding a workplace gives another business access to records, or that one login should bypass company permissions.
- Review assignments when someone changes branch.
- Keep the payroll date range consistent.
- Check any location filters before export.
- Retain access only while it is needed.
Common questions
Are extra locations charged separately?
There is no separate location fee in CrewLoca’s plan. Enabled accounts determine the subscription total.
Does adding a location create a new company?
No. A location belongs to a company workspace. Separate companies and the permissions governing them remain separate concerns.
