Make the workplace clear
Give each site a recognisable name and check the location marker. Staff should know which workplace to choose if they visit more than one project.
CrewLoca supports multiple workplaces and workplace assignments. Managers review the locations they are permitted to access, while the owner retains company-level control.
Plan for poor signal
After the app has been opened online, clockings can be saved on the device while offline. They remain pending until synchronisation is confirmed; a saved event is not yet a confirmed server record.
Tell staff to check the pending state when connection returns. Do not assume the supervisor can already see an event that is still on the worker’s phone.
Keep site attendance separate from output
Review starts, finishes, breaks and corrections before preparing hours. CrewLoca’s focus is attendance and approved time, rather than measuring bricks laid, valuing a plot or calculating a subcontractor’s pricework.
If travel between sites or an early finish affects pay, agree the treatment and keep the evidence. A geofence check alone cannot decide whether an activity is payable.
- Use clear site names rather than similar abbreviations.
- Test reception and location permission at the arrival point.
- Resolve missed finishes before the pay-period deadline.
- Retire old locations without losing historical attendance.
Common questions
Does every site need a separate subscription?
CrewLoca’s plan has no separate location charge. The subscription depends on the company’s active billable accounts.
Can the owner supervise without clocking?
Yes. The owner can manage the company without recording their own attendance.
