For your team

Time clocking for cleaning companies

A cleaning team may work a short morning visit, another client site and an evening shift. Clear attendance records help separate those visits without relying on one weekly total recalled from memory.

Use client workplaces consistently

Create recognisable workplace names that staff can select confidently. Assign people only to the locations they need, and give managers the relevant review access.

CrewLoca records attendance against workplaces. It is not a cleaning job-dispatch system and does not record a completed task checklist, calculate client invoices or optimise travel routes.

Agree what each visit records

Decide how staff record the beginning and end of each working period and how breaks are treated. Check the gaps between visits separately from the time recorded at a client location.

For indoor premises, test phone location accuracy before relying on a narrow geofence. Location recording without a boundary may suit some arrangements better.

Review short shifts promptly

Small errors across several short visits can make a weekly total hard to explain. Review missing finishes and correction reasons before approving a pay period.

Managers should check the workers and workplaces within their responsibility. Approved hours can then be exported for payroll rather than copied from messages or handwritten notes.

  • Use a clear name for each client workplace.
  • Explain the rule for travel and unpaid gaps.
  • Check outstanding corrections before the weekly cutoff.
  • Export approved hours using a consistent date range.

Common questions

Is CrewLoca a lone-worker safety system?

No. Attendance records and location checks are not an emergency response, welfare check or lone-worker alarm service.

Can different managers review different client sites?

Managers can be assigned locations and permissions so their review access matches their responsibility.
