Choose proportionate location rules
A fixed workplace geofence may fit an office but be unsuitable for a person whose work location legitimately changes. CrewLoca lets a workplace use a boundary, location recording only or no location requirement.
Explain the rule before staff use it. CrewLoca’s location checks happen at clocking; they are not continuous tracking throughout the working day.
Separate attendance from productivity
A clocking record says when someone recorded work. It does not measure the quality of their output, the value of a meeting or whether a task was completed.
CrewLoca does not provide screen recording, screenshots or keystroke monitoring. Use your normal management process for work outcomes and the attendance process for hours and corrections.
Use one clear time-zone convention
CrewLoca supports a time zone for each workplace as well as a company reporting time zone. A shift keeps its workplace time zone and belongs to the local date it started. Agree the reporting period with your payroll team, especially across countries.
Do not assume automatic country-specific overtime, break entitlements or payroll rules. Check the business’s requirements before planning a rollout across jurisdictions.
- Explain the start, finish and break convention.
- Choose appropriate workplace location requirements.
- Keep corrections visible to the appropriate reviewer.
- Review the company time zone before comparing dates.
